At Meadow Brook Senior Living, we believe every resident deserves days filled with purpose, engagement, and genuine connection, especially those living with early-onset dementia or similar cognitive changes. That’s why we’re proud to introduce the Purposeful Living Program for Assisted Living Residents at Meadow Brook Senior Living, a structured, full-day engagement model designed to support residents who benefit from more guided, meaningful activity beyond our general community calendar.

This specialized program runs seven days a week from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering consistent supervision, tailored activities, and compassionate support from trained team members who understand the unique needs of individuals experiencing cognitive impairment.

A Day Designed for Purpose and Possibility

The Meadow Brook Connections Program blends routine, creativity, and social engagement into a predictable daily rhythm. Activities are thoughtfully structured to enhance social, physical, emotional, and cognitive well‑being, while honoring each resident’s individualized service plan.

A typical day includes:

  • Coffee & Connection (9:00–10:30 AM)

Warm conversation, gentle cognitive stimulation, and social engagement to start the day.

  • Exercise (10:30–11:30 AM)

Movement tailored to ability levels, supporting strength, balance, and confidence.

  • Lunch (11:30 AM–12:30 PM)

Shared mealtime to encourage socialization and familiarity.

  • Rest & Refresh (12:30–1:30 PM)

A calm reset period that supports emotional regulation and comfort.

  • Walking Club (1:30–2:00 PM)

Light physical activity paired with sensory stimulation and outdoor enjoyment.

  • Nature & Nurture (2:00–3:30 PM)

Spiritual time spent with nature and/or planning and executing service projects that make a positive impact on the community or a charity.

  • Set-Up for Dinner (3:30–4:00 PM)

Purposeful, adult life-skills tasks that reinforce independence and identity.

  • Dinner (4:00–5:00 PM)

A familiar, comforting close to the day.

These activities are delivered by trained staff who understand how to support cognitive engagement, reduce anxiety, and help residents feel grounded and successful.

Already Making a Meaningful Difference

Though the program launched only weeks ago, the impact has been remarkable. One family member recently shared:

“I just wanted to share how incredibly impactful this new program has been for my mom. She has truly done a complete 180 in terms of her cognitive engagement and overall happiness—it’s been amazing to see such a positive change… She was playing a game!!! She recognized everyone and even participated in meaningful conversation. The connection, consistency, and insight into the residents’ cognitive and engagement needs have been such a big part of my mom’s progress.”

Stories like this reflect what Meadow Brook strives for every day: connection, dignity, and quality of life.
