Executive Director: Mauree Priest
Mauree is a Licensed Practical Nurse, has a Bachelor's of Science in Healthcare Management, recently earned her MBA from Western Governors University (WGU) and was the recipient of the 2019 WGU Academic Excellence Award.
"I have a servant's heart and want to lead a team who believes in making a difference in the lives of our residents. Traditions core values are built around these important versus necessary choices we make every day with residents, the kind designed to maximize their quality of life and happiness. We are guests in their homes, so I want them to feel comfortable, well cared for and loved." Mauree and her husband, Brent, have two boys (Dylan and Drake) and a St. Bernard, Brutus.
Memory Care Director: Megan Clark
Megan has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Purdue University. She has experience working in the social services field, including working in long-term care and working with adults and children with disabilities. She has previous experience as Memory Care Director for another Traditions Management community.
“I believe that every person deserves to live full, meaningful lives. Every day I want our residents to be celebrated for exactly who they are at this moment right now. I want everyone working on Memory Care to meet our residents where they are to provide meaningful engagement and opportunities for them to live to their fullest potential. I believe everyone holds the ability to communicate and as a caregiver, it is my job to determine what someone is communicating, even if verbal ability is limited. I have seen firsthand how Varietas® impacts our residents lives by providing comfort, routine, and individualized care and I am thrilled for the opportunity to use the Varietas® program to serve our residents.”
Megan lives in Lebanon with her husband Bobby, sons Liam and Finnegan, and her beagle Seamus.
Director of Nursing: Brown Ziwawo
Brown was born in Lilongwe, Malawi in Central Africa, studied Information Technology in Pune, India, moved to Carmel for the school system and received his LPN from Kaplan College Nursing School. He is certified in CPR and First Aid.
"What I want residents and families to know most of all is that I'm here to be an advocate for each and every person. I have a natural connection with our residents and love to see them smile." Brown is married to a nurse and has two children. Their daughter is a 2nd year medical student at the IU School of Medicine and their son is at IU Bloomington and interested in pursuing a law degree.
Activities Director: Penny Jones
Penny has an Associate Degree in Nursing and has a genuine love of people, especially her residents.
"The stories and wisdom our residents share is amazing. Seeing their faces each morning blesses each day. I've been here for more than six years, and it's such a special gift to follow residents and families through life's changes, to listen and help however we can. I keep the Golden Rule in mind each day: treat others the way you would like to be treated." Penny and her husband have one daughter, she has two stepsons and they have two grandchildren.
Director of Culinary Services: Migdalia Catalan
Migdalia earned her teaching degree in Guatemala, is Servsafe Certified and bi-lingual.
"The dining experience is so important to our residents. I bring cleanliness and organization to our kitchen, and love to see the residents smile when they know they can enjoy a delicious meal." Migdalia has one daughter who just graduated from high school.
Director of Maintenance: Sam Wasila
Sam was born and studied in Egypt. He also holds his HVAC certification.
"I enjoy fixing things for our residents and bringing a sense of humor to every situation. We are a good team and we are here to make our residents comfortable and happy. " Sam and his wife, Dalia have two children, Heaven and Grace.
Business Office Manager: Kearston Denham
Kearston was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio and has a Bachelor's of Science from Eastern Kentucky University.
"I love that this position utilizes all parts of my personality and skill set, including my analytical and aspirational sides that embrace organization, challenge and new opportunities and my social and outgoing sides that enjoy the chance to interact with residents and staff and watch their joy when we participate in activities together. I love being part of creating a welcoming environment for residents and families." Kearston and her husband have a one-year-old son, Sterling, and an ornery dog named Poppy.
